Steely Dan live 2011: More dates + Special Setlists

Special SetlistsThe Special Setlists shows of the 2009 tour are back for the 2011 tour. The 2009 tour had select evenings when the band performed one of three albums (The Royal Scam, Aja or Gaucho) plus additional songs and a few night branded Internet Request Nights where they (alledgedly) played what the fans voted for online after purchasing tickets.

Announced today with more dates at the Beacon Theatre in New York are the 2011 version of Special Setlists:

"Aja", "Gaucho", or "The Royal Scam" — Plus: Setlist is one of three classic Steely Dan albums in its entirety — Aja, Gaucho, or The Royal Scam — plus additional selected favorites and hits.

By Popular Demand: Fans have always found a way to let Fagen and Becker know what they want to hear. This setlist represents oft-requested songs of recent years.

Dawn of The Dan: Featuring songs from Steely Dan's groundbreaking first albums of the '70s — Can't Buy A Thrill, Countdown to Ecstasy, and Pretzel Logic — plus additional selected favorites and hits.

21st Century Dan: Featuring songs from 2003's Everything Must Go and 2000's Grammy Album Of The Year Two Against Nature — plus additional selected favorites and hits.

Rarities: The unreleased, the mythic, the reborn, the rarely-if-ever-heard; On this numinous Night of Nights, all will be revealed (along with additional selected favorites and hits)

As you can see all Steely Dan albums except Katy Lied will be played in toto on special nights.
However, the nights that have the fans buzzing are the Rarities show. What songs could be hiding behind that title?

Radio Dupree would like to salute the fact that all songs from the bands most recent albums (Two Against Nature and Everything Must Go) finally will get a prominent live chance this tour.

And according to the newsletter from steelydan.com announcing this there's more. Quote:

.... and we're not done yet!

Stay tuned for even more tour updates
and news to come.
