Chicago '78, Little Dots and Meat Light: The Uncle Meat Project/Object.
Those are the new titles that can be found on Amazon now. What a surprise! Not much information, though. Release date (Zappa Records) October 14.
The Chicago album has to be the line up with Vince Colaiuta on drums (his first tour with Zappa). This could be a much needed release since there are very few tracks released by this band.

Little Dots is probably another CD from the 1972 Petite Wazoo tour. (The first one was Imaginary Diseases).

The use of the label Zappa Records could indicate that these albums has decent sound quality, not like the Road Tapes series which is great but sometimes use subpar recordings.

13 x Genesis on vinyl September 30, 2016
In about one months time 13 of Genesis studio albums will be available on vinyl again. 180 gram vinyl at that.
Universal Records are making every studio album from Trespass (1970) to Calling All Stations (1997) available again after being out of print. The one studio album that have been available all the time is apparently Selling England By The Pound (1973).
All albums remastered from the original studio masters and coming with original packaging, i.e. looking like they did when they were originally released.
Missing is the bands debut from 1969; From Genesis To Revelation, since the record company doesn't own the rights to that record.

Clip of Beatles before Shea Stadium gig
With the Beatles movie Eight Days A Week - The Touring Years one month away this short clip was posted yesterday on Twitter:

Any idea why we can't get the Twitter embed tweet code to work and actually get the tweet including playable video embedded here on our blog? We've lookd for solutions but can't come up with any... A bit boring serving up just text and a link. :(

Strong reactions on Zappa item auction
Auction house Julien's in Los Angeles is announcing an auction of properties of the estate of Frank and Gail Zappa:
..."This includes a Dandies Fashions coat worn by Frank Zappa on the July 20, 1968 cover of Rolling Stone magazine; a purple ribbed turtleneck worn by Frank Zappa in 200 Motels (United Artists, 1971); a stage worn vest that Zappa also wore on the back cover of the 1972 album Waka Jawaka; a collection of career related awards presented to Frank Zappa including various Gold records, a National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences Lifetime Achievement Award,"...
But many fans have reacted with disgust and sadness. Frank's brother Bob Zappa has posted this on Facebook:
"The Julien's auction of Frank Zappa's belongings, like his music awards, articles of clothing and other personal items is an offense to his memory."
He gets support from other fans. Here are two of the numerous comments on Bob Zappa's post:
"I can understand some discrimination between entirely personal items specific to family and highly culturally relevant articles relating to his art which could be displayed and protected but this sounds like a car boot sale"
"Like Dali's Museum and House regarded in Spain as national treasures, Zappa's home and studio should be revered ... sickening."

Congratulations Mr Holdsworth!
Holdsworth is known for his intricate, very fast solos and the unorthodox chord changes in his compositions. He has written a book enititled Reaching for the Uncommon Chord.
His unique fluid playing has inspired musicians as Eddie Van Halen and Joe Satriani.
The must-hear albums, according to Radio Dupree:
UK - UK (1978, with Bill Bruford, Eddie Jobson and John Wetton)
Allan Holdsworth - I.O.U. (1982)
Allan Holdsworth - Metal Fatigue (1985)

Happy 50th birthday - Revolver!
One of the most loved Beatles albums, and their first really innovative one. Released on August 5, 1966.
On this one the lads experimented with Indian music (Love You To), classical string arrangements (Eleanor Rigby) and unconventional recording techniques as tape loops and running the vocal microphpone signal through a leslie etc.
Did we tell which one is Radio Dupree's favourite track? Tomorrow Never Knows, no doubt!
