And it's a "Welcome back!" to Stackridge, who topped the Radio Dupree chart with the very same song back in April of 2011 (and another one in February that same year). Third time lucky and all that...

Our main artists; Frank Zappa and Steely Dan are pronouncedly featured as well as a fairly constant visitor to the chart the last six-plus months; Jimi Hendrix.
And look! Even our Album of the Month; Strange Days by The Doors makes the Top 10!

Other than that you might notice that the Top 20 ended up being a Top 15 this time around. No real surprise as the listening goes down during the summer months and with that follows fewer thumbs up and thumbs down from our listeners. And that's what in the end makes this chart tick.

Enjoy the summer and don't forget you can take Radio Dupree with you thanks to apps for both Android and various i-devices:

They topped the chart in February with another track from the same album, and now Stackridge is back again at the top spot. Congratulations! (And it makes us wonder why we waited almost eight years before adding the first Stackridge song to our playlist...)

Frank Zappa is no stranger to Radio Dupree's Top 20. And charting with six songs is nothing unusal for Mr. Zappa. Let's see what happens now that his The Best Band You Never Heard in Your Life is our Album of the Month.

It is also nice to see that one of our less predictable additions to the playlist; Twiggy, got enough thumbs up to make number six on this month's chart. And taking a glance at the chart it does have a distinctly British feel this time around. Jolly nice!

If you listen please make your voice heard by clicking the various like/disklike options. Not only does these help compile this chart, but more importantly it is our way to know what you want to hear more of and no more of (!). And feel free to suggest an artist/artists we should play in the comments to this post. Or wite us at radiodupree@yahoo.se

A surprising and stunning chart full of "newcomers" to the chart as well as a few regulars.

Who'd have thought that folk/prog/pop band Stackridge would take the top spot? Makes us interested in mining that early 1970's UK scene a bit more. Stay tuned for our Album of the Month!

Ted Kooshian with a Steely Dan cover and James Blood Ulmer have been strangers to the chart until now and our Album of the Month managed one track among the Top 20; Captain Beefheart landing at 19.

All in all a very interesting and refreshing chart this month!
