R.I.P. Allan Holdsworth

The news came via Facebook.

Allan Holdsworth (b 1946) was indeed thee guitarist extraordinaire of our time. In the 70's Allan had made some remarkable recordings with the group UK (with Bill Bruford, Eddie Jobson, John Wetton) and later with Bruford's group. Allan started his solo carreer in the early 80's with the album I.O.U. The young Van Halen was blown away by Allan's playing and thanks to him Allan got a record deal with WEA.

Eddie Jobson, keyboardist of this supergroup of the late 70's has put together this heavy collection which includes their three albums plus lots of other stuff.
