As his final world tour ground to a Covid-19 halt for more than a year,
Elton John sort of seems to have stumbled into making new music adding up to the suitably named album
The Lockdown Sessions due to be released 22 October this year.
It is a 16 track collaboration album and here's what Elton has to say about it:
All the tracks I worked on were really interesting and diverse, stuff that was completely different to anything I’m known for, stuff that took me out of my comfort zone into completely new territory.
At the start of my career, in the late 60s, I worked as a session musician. Working with different artists during lockdown reminded me of that. I was a session musician again. And it was still a blast.
Four of the songs have already been released in 2020 and 2021 as separate tracks. They're marked with a *.
1. Elton John & Dua Lipa – Cold Heart (PNAU Remix) *
2. Elton John, Young Thug & Nicki Minaj – Always Love You
3. Surfaces feat. Elton John – Learn To Fly *
4. Elton John & Charlie Puth – After All
