Seven original photos of The Beatles were sent to a waste compactor by an inexperienced cleaner when cleaning an office at EMI's photographic office in 2001.
www.telegraph.co.uk reports that EMI now is suing the cleaner's employer, claiming the pics to have been "historically important and valuable" and worth £700,000.
One of the photos was used for the Please, Please Me album. Except from the Beatles photographs, another 452 transparencies and negatives were destroyed that evening when the cleaner worked in the EMI office.
