Steely Dan: Japan and surprise cover

OK. It's not like Stely Dan playing a surprise cover during the first night of shows i Japan. It's two different Steely Dan news items:

1) We've got quite a few covers of Steely Dan songs. But it's ususally the familiar ones that get covered. But that's not what happens when Brazilian singer Luciana Souza's album The New Bossa Nova is released August 21.
It features Where You Blind That Day. That's the alternative lyrics version of Third World Man from Steely Dan's Gaucho album.
Luciana's version the first official release of that song with those lyrics.
Where You Blind That Day has previously circulated in a set of demos for the Gaucho album.

You can hear 30 seconds of Luciana's version here.

Another song on the album; Love Is For Strangers, is written by the producer of the album; Larry Klein together with Walter Becker.

SPOILER! SETLIST! SPOILER! SETLIST! SPOILER!

2) The long Heavy Rollers 2007 tour has hit Japan. Steely Dan do two shorter shows per evening, and reports over on dandom.com/guestbook says that the following songs were played during the first night's two shows in Tokyo:

Time Out Of Mind
Godwhacker
Hey Nineteen
Peg
Babyron Sisters
Aja
Josie
Dirty Work
Kid Charlemagne
My Old School
Time Out Of Mind
Bad Sneakers
Hey Nineteen
Haitian Divorce
Green Earrings
Dirty Work
Josie
Chain Lightning
Pretzel Logic
Black Cow
Peg

Basically the same set of songs as they played i the US and Europe with a couple of additions. And talking of Europe: There's a few new pics from the road up on steelydan.com.
