50th anniversary of iconic Hendrix debut album

Today it is 50 years ago since the original release of the groundbreaking debut album by the Jimi Hendrix Experience.
Are You Experienced was an immediate commercial success and is by many regarded as one of the greatest debuts in rock'n'roll. The magazine Rolling Stone ranked it #15 on their list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

The title track - behind the scenes:

Are You Experience is one of those awesome 1967 albums that changed popular music. (Pink Floyd's The Piper at the Gates of Dawn and The Beatles' Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band are two more).

Another anniversary:

Today English rock artist extraordinaire, Ian Dury, would have been 75.
He made quite a success in the late 1970's with songs as Hit Me with Your Rhythm Stick, Reasons to be Cheerful, Part 3 and Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll,.

Unfortunately Ian passed away in 2000. And hey, there is actually a link between Ian Dury and Jimi Hendrix debut album. There is one song on Ian's album Laughter (1980) called "Manic Depression (Jimi)". But it is not a cover of Jimi's song.
