In 2000 The Beatles album "1" made a great success. Now there is the new edition "1+", which is the hit song collection plus their promo videos.

Roxy - The Movie is the long awaited concert film from the Zappa/Mothers stint at The Roxy in Hollywood in December 1973. Some of the material was released on the album Roxy & Elsewhere in 1974.

Lemmy stopped show after two songs

Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister, frontman of Motörhead, had to stop yesterday's show in Austin because of health problems.

David Gilmour: Pink Floyd are over

Long time Pink Floyd guitarist and vocalist David Gilmour tells Classic Rock Magazine that there will be no more Pink Floyd. NME publishes the story too.

Zappa/Mothers footage from Newport 1969

This short but very nice film footage from Newport Jazz Festival 1969 has emerged on YouTube recently.
It includes snippets from A Pound For A Brown On The Bus and Sleeping In A Jar as well as other material.

Filmmaker and illustrator Jane Aaron dies at 67

She did animations on the Sesame Street television series, illustrated children's books and made short films.
Radio Dupree came across her name when she collaborated with Donald Fagen, and we'll just quote our own post from April 2010:

Back in the second half of the 1980's Donald Fagen wrote the music to three short films directed by Jane Aaron; Traveling Light, Set In Motion and This Time Around. The connection being that Jane's brother Peter had been at Bard College at the same time as Donald and Walter Becker.

McCartney's Tug of War and Pipes of Peace re-issued

Paul McCartney's early 1980's albums Tug of War and Pipes of Peace "will receive lavish multiple configuration reissue treatment including exclusive 2015 remixes". The re-issue will also include "a treasure trove of previously unreleased tracks and never before seen video, and much more", as the press release puts it.
