Good news in Warren-land!

We were sad to hear that the planned box set of goodies and unreleased stuff from late singer/songwriter Warren Zevon stranded late last year. It had been in the works for some time.

Looks like all's not lost. This is what his son Jordan wrote on the www.warrenzevon.com bulletin board a week ago:

"When it looked like the Rhino box set was no mas, I went to Danny Goldberg and New West records to release the early demo recordings on a single disc minus the recordings from the Warner vault. The good news is the Rhino box may happen after all with later recordings and a live disc."

So all of a sudden we have the three expanded releases of Excitable Boy, The Envoy and Stand In The Fire next month joined by an album of early demos titled Warren Zevon - Preludes - Rare and Unreleased Recordings. And then further down the line the box set.

And we shouldn't forget the biography written by Crystal Zevon coming this May titled I'll Sleep When I'm Dead: The Dirty Life and Times of Warren Zevon.
