ZPZ success in Stockholm

The Zappa Plays Zappa concert at Hovet, Stockholm, Sweden on May 19th turned out to be a great success!
It started unconvincing but at the end the audience was making standing ovations for Dweezil Zappa and his band.
The first half hour or so could have been better. We got Montana and Dupree's Paradise on a screen from the upcoming (?) Roxy DVD. Then the band opened with Help I'm A Rock and Hungry Freaks, Daddy. Not a bad movie and no bad songs, but Chunga's Revenge (for instance) could have worked better as a starter.
The last song before intermission was Inca Roads where Dweezil played a real nice solo using a guitar sound a' la Ship Ahoy.

2nd part started off with tons of energy...I'm So Cute with Bozzio, and finally I had the pleasure to see him sing and play Punky's Whips live on stage. Guitar virtuoso Steve Vai played his impossible guitar parts on The Black Page and Zomby Woof. What a show!

The next day I went to see another great concert when The Magic Band played Club Fasching. Former members of Captain Beefheart's band played the Captain's songs, and they did it very well!
Especially Drumbo (John French) impressed as a vocalist.
