Seeks money for new Woodstock festival

Michael Lang, the organiser of the Woodstock Festival in 1969, plans to revive the festival for the 40th anniversary. Lang has told The Times that "all he needs is sponsorship of $10 million (£7 million) in the next three weeks".

The original Woodstock festival marked the zenit, and the end of the sixties flower power era. Lang made an attempt to revive the festival for a 30th anniversary 1999, but it ended in chaos when fans were making bonfires that threatened to make the stage catch fire.
